Ok, So ive got one of my 125 gallon tanks I am setting up. Its drilled in the back for the Beananimal overflow with return. The pump is a Laguna 2000. Ive got about 4 to 5 ft of head. I do have a gate valve on the retur to dial in the flow with the return. My drain is all 1-1/2". I can do 1" to 1-1/4 return. Anyhow onto the question im tossing up to decide on.

Ive got a decent wet acrylic wet dry set up for up to about 125g tank. I was thinking of using it on my 90 gallon and using this other monster wet dry thats for 300g set up on the 125. I was testing out this monster wet dry today for leaks and low behold it leaks quite a bit. I suppose I could silicone it up like a tank in all the corners. BUT Id rather not even use it seeing how it leaks. Id rather not have the possibility increased to have a leak. So here are what I believe my options are. These are not in any perfered option just numbered 1 through 3.

Option
#1)

Ive got a spare good 55 gallon tank I can make a fiiltration unit out of. It would have 2 to 4 socks at the inlet then overflow onto the drip tray where they is more mechanical media. Then down the bio balls (ive got like 30gallons of them) then into the sump side where the heaters will rest as well as the pump to return it back to the tank.

Option
#2)

I can try to seal with epoxy and silicone the old monster acrylic wet dry box that was leaking and try and use it and hope it holds. I really like the dang thing cause its huge. Just about as big as a 55 gallon tank. Just 4 inches shorter in length. But in my head Im worried there may always be a higher chance for a leak. For mechanical I can combine it with a canister.

Option
#3)

I can use the wet dry I was going to use on my 90 gallon. Combine it with the canister thats on the 90 now. OR I could use a spare 29 gallon tank ive got to make a sump for mechanical filtraion only with some socks and media. Put the heaters inside the 29 gallon. Then have both sumps... The Wet dry and the 29 gallon Tee into the pump that would be mounted external between the two.

Im leaning more towards making a monster filter out of the 55 gallon myself.
