I buy the worms at $1 an ounce or $6 for a pound....I feed the worms as treats to my fish 2 or 3 times a week....I normally buy the 1 ounce deals, this means I go to the store every time I trerat my fish...If I can figure out how to keep a pound alive for a week or so, it will save me the trips back and forth every week...

What???10g tank filled with 2 inches of fine sand or even soil, will this keep a pound alive for two weeks....

I'm not a fan of tubifex worms. I personally use black worms and use to use blood worms. I usually had luck keeping a lb of black worms alive for 2-3 weeks. Never been able to do with blood worms though. I've never had experience keeping tubifex.

The only way I've found to keep a large amount of tubifex alive is to keep them in a container in the sink with a constant trickle of cold water running in it. But my sink is in the fishroom, I wouldn't want them in the kitchen or bathroom sink.
