I've been a long time fish CA/SA cichlid keeper and am interested in these fish. I have a 90g that I just emptied out and am thinking about trying something new in it. I'm having trouble finding much info on these other then they get about 1 foot and a farely aggressive. Are there any specific water requirments?

What else could be kept with a singe male in a 90G?

Hey mate, the water requirement is similar to sa/ca cichlids. As long as your water is not on the extreme side, then they should be all right. I keep mine with a blue acara, nicaraguense, two ebjd amd a rainbow cichlids. Mine's temperment is all right; however, he dislike my rainbow cichlid a lot. It would be cool if you do a Madagascar biotop tank. Polleni along with some Paretroplus nourisatti or paretroplus menarambo should be interesting.

I keep mine with centrals, they are not the fastest growers, not too aggressive in my experience (except with each other). Seem to become finicky feeders with age.

I don't know about yours, but look how fast mine grew in exactly 2 months to the day!

Growth rate looks to be about 1.5-2" a month

As far as temperment, he's very laid back and will take pellets from my hand. He's not aggressive towards any of my other fish, but won't back down if they try him either. He's a voracious eater and always comes right to the front of the tank. We'll see how that changes as he grows larger.

He's in with Peacocks, Jewels and Fronts

Thanks for the info everyone. I was thinking of doing peacocks with a bleekeri. What ph are you keeping your tank at Frostyone? Any idea how many peacocks I should have in a 90g with a Bleekeri?

That growth rate seems about normal, mine were @ 1" on Memorial day

@ 4" today.

I must add, they eat anything that fits in their mouth, I had a bunch of cuban fry @ 1" that they thinned eagerly. Although they didn't bother the larger ones , or larger hait fry

I have a 10" polleni and a 5-6" bleekeri. My polleni is a PITA, very territorial, likes to chase. When I keep him with SA/CA about his size he gets his butt kicked, but does not back down. Works best if I keep him with smaller fish, then he just chases but does not damage the smaller fish.

My bleekeri now shows no aggresion towards other fish, although previously he killed a smaller female I was keeping him with.

My PH stays solid at 8.2

I plan on moving the Polleni to his own 75-90 gallon tank when he gets larger, I don't think he stay so docile once he gets bigger than the rest of my fish.
