The title says it all, would it be alright to keep my polleni (8inch) in a 60gal planted aquarium with my salvini and 3 clown loaches. Both the salvini and polleni were in my 240, but my school of 8 piranhas are getting VERY fin picky. The reason I'm moving those two, is that I know the salvini will be ok in the 60gal. But the polleni never swam around the tank. Always stayed behind one of the pieces of driftwood or just around it. Do you think he will be alright? He already seems to be out and about more in the 60gal I moved him to about 2 hours ago.

Polleni are not particularly long, but are bulky, and can become quite dominant if bigger than other fish in the tank. at full grown size, both are too big, but can work short term with good filtration and such.

Not ideal, but polleni can go solo there IMO

My old polleni lived 17years in a 60G, tried tank mates once when young but past i think around 6" started to kill anything placed with him...

Then after that he lived out his life solo in the 60G quite happily...

Great :) thanks guys. I really love my polleni, so I guess when he starts showing aggression to my salvini, then ill sell the salvini. And its such a relief knowing he'll be happy in a 60gal.

Just outta curiosity, what are the dimensions of the 60g?

...........
this example was ^ "solo". not saying it is the only scenario, but
you need to know that clown loaches grow quite large eventually.

Yeah my clown loaches will be moved as they grow bigger, dimensions are 1.2 meters by 45 or 50cm. I cannot recall the height and I am not at home with the tank now.
