So I just got a polleni today from my lfs and its about 1 in or so my question is how fast do they grow and how long does it take for them to turn into the starry night cichlid that ive wanted so bad. any info is greatly welcomed and thanks in advance.

Congrats I just bought two one 4.5 and one 5.5 from a member here waiting not so patiently for them to be shipped. Mind if I asked how much you paid?
I saw one randomly in a post one friday had no idea what it was. I said I will not sleep until I find and buy one of these fish. So I googled pictures until I found it, then I googled for someone to buy one from and found nothing. I saw a ONE YEAR OLD post here someone was selling them so on a whim I PM'd them and bingo got my fish. Due to weather we are waiting to thursday to shift.
Edit: small spot which is the true polleni? or is it big spot which is P.Bleekeri

When I got my pair they were about 3 inches, the female was a little smaller. I've had them for 6 months and they have reached about 6 to 7 inches so growth is fairly slow compared to something like an oscar.

I have been thinking about ordering form Jeff Rapps for a couple months cuz I know any fish i get from him would b quality but the shipping would b expensive the fish would only b 7.50. but my local LFS just got an order in today and they got polleni in woohoo and i got first pick lol only cost 12.99 Im just hoping it turns out to b a quality fish (I think it will b)
o man I don't even want to say how much I paid for mine but they where larger 4.5 and 5.5 I paid more for the two fish then the shipping but shipping was still alot. But in the end I don't care I love the way the look and can't get them around here. I could have ordered some random fry for like 9 but I feel better buying from a hobbyist anyway.
