Is it possible for a male senegal and a female ornate to breed? I just put the female ornate(I think it's female) last night. Since then my male senegal has been going through the motions of breeding behavior. Here are a few pics.

Let me know what you think,
Chris

They're in the same genus so I would think so, sounds cool, keep us updated

its possible, but its a bit too soon for mating to happen on that size, here according to some local breeders bichirs are ready for mating when they're around 2-3 years old. Here are some pics of sen x orna,
not my pics, belongs to my a friend of mine,

bichirs sex can be seen from their anal fins, males have a wider anal fin than the female,
ornate, dels, poly, and sens, are all upper jaws species. There are more on the list, just hv a look into stickies section in this forum.
cheers

oops didnt realize he had an ornate, i thought it was an endli, and i wnted to know whether the cross would have upper or lower jaws
