So I got a poly about a week ago listed as Palmas from a lfs and through my own research it seems there could be 3 different kinds/versions of Palmas? The first 2 pics are from the day I brought it home and the second 2 are today about a week later. Such a drastic color change! Any thoughts on correct species Id or if it’s even a Palmas lol I’ve kept “dinosaur” Bichir before. I’m expecting this fish to get quite a bit larger then those right? Looks like polypterus palmas palmas.
I agree. Palmas Palmas.
Every so often "they" change the names and classifications on polys. Techanically the palmas were removed as a classification now I think. Or it may be only the palmas palmas was left in it and polli and buettikoferi were removed and lumped into p. Senegalus. I dont remember but this touches on it a bit.

There are more recent changes too in late 17 or early 2018 I believe.
