I'm curious about what everyone feeds their polys
make a list of what you feed yours(truthful)
if its pellets,what kind?
if its fish filets,what type of fish?
etc etc etc

i just fed mine and was wondering what everyone feeds theirs to bulk them up



i feed fish filets
halibut
rock cod
lingcod
beefheart
goldfish once in a while

Mine are only 3-4" so I feed them bloodworms, beefheart, and earthworms. As they get bigger, they'll probably get some livebearers as feeders.
 
Worms and Hik. Pellets
 
Cichlid gold

cichlid bio gold

cichlid gold sinking (both sizes)

raw shrimp

earthworms (an infrequent treat)

I used to feed the earthworms more often, but they're expensive and my laps didn't want to eat anything else, so now all my bichirs mainly get pellets,but shrimp every few days for variety.

The pellet foods really have all the protein and vitamins though.

Pet store bought: Sinking carnivore pellets, Algae tablets, Tetramin variety pellets, omega one shrimps pellets, Hbh Cichlid attack pellets
Frozen: Bloodworms, Beefheart, Ocean one marine, Brine shrimp, Mysis shrimp, Silverside, Krill(Bichirs don't like it too much but the BGK does))
Raw: Shrimp, Hamburger(rarely) Anchovies,
Live: Ghost shrimp, earthworms
 
market shrimp, silversides, and giant minows from walmart, havent tried pellets im still beefing mine up :)
 
Market shrimp, Omega One sinking shrimp pellets (pretty much the only thing the lap eats :screwy:), tilapia pieces, HBH soft krill, Omega One sinking marine pellets, imitation crab, turkey

I still haven't been able to find the frozen bait section at wally world for silversides
