is this stuff safe to use in my filters?

I see the pic...does it say its flame retardant?

its floss type of stuff. i dont know why it says pellet, but the bags i saw were floss. DIDNT say MILDEW RESISTANT, but i didnt look for fire retardant label, its like 15 for a big box that will prob last a life time

As long as you don't see that any crazy chemicals were added, or it doesn't have any fire retardant/mildew resistant/ anything else they could add you should be good to go. I have found that usually the cheapest stuff is the safest bet since it is least likely to have anything added.

if it says flame/mildew resistant, wash it with warm water and baking soda and air dry it, it should be fine afterwards

I use Eversoft Quilting Batt (Walmart)... it says on the label:
  • 100% Polyester
  • washable
  • odourless
  • mildew proof
  • non allergenic

I called the company and there is nothing added extra. Polyester is naturally "mildew proof" (heck its inert to most things) so I think you are OK even if it says mildew resistant etc.... flame retardent, I don't know...

Thanks for the tip, I usually stray away from wally world; but this promises to be cheaper than what you can scrounge up at most fabric stores.
