poly in a 36"-12"-16"?

i have a new tank i just got for free and was wondering if there are any type of poly that can live in a 36"-12"-16" tank for life?
 
senegul would be OK

are they aggressive? ive seen people with senegals and tankmates before. if nothing else because id be overstocked, im sure i could put more in the tank besides the senegal(if this tank is big enough for the senegal), like a 250g tank is minimum for an aro, but you could still do tankmates. if the senegal will be cramped in my tank then i wont get it.
 
I think an albino senegal would be happy (they supposedly get a little smaller, only 8-10) in that tank. im not sure about tankmates. Nothing big, but he would eat anything small
 
thanks, ill get a senegal, but on liveaquaria.com(dr foster and smith) it said the minimum tank size for all the big bichirs like the ornates was 50g, but then for the senegal it said it needed a minimum of 90g. whats with that? they had the max sizes of the fish right.
