so i was watch'n the bichirs the other day and one of my senegals went to the surface for air. when it did it made this noise... and im really not sure how to describe it. it didnt sound like a noise that an fish would make - like a clicking or growling like some catfish. it was more like choking on air without actually choking, since it seems fine. it went to the surface again within a minute and it made another sound as it took a breath, this time it was a little different. any thoughts? should i be worried? as far as changes go, i have noticed that when they are chewing their food and i can see up into their gills it seems to be a bright red in there. i dont remember it being like that. so maybe they dont seem quite fine, though they do act fairly normal.
