I want to know what other fish can live successfully in a tank with a 12" senegal and a 8" ornate? I would not want anything aggressive with these bichirs but, the tank seems a little empty at times. Please any info or suggestions.:)

Im interested i a knife of some kind but, I know little of their temperment. I've always kept cichlids. These polys are intriguing. I wish my jardini in a 90gal or my RD in a 75gal would play nice... not gonna even try it:screwy: Thank you for your input. Oh yeah, they are currently in a 55gal and wont get a bigger tank for a year.

Black ghost and some medium moderately aggressive cichlids. Maybe a couple of severums, a firemouth, something like that. I think you'd want some more surface-oriented fish though, to balance out the polys and knife.

Thank you all. Maybe I'll just wait... They seem happy right now. So, probably best to wait for a bigger set up. MFK is the sh**!:headbang2

I ended up putting a 4" Dat in with them and everything has been fine. It is actually a nice balance. Thanks.

If Knives are what you're looking for, the African Brown Knife would be a good chose since they only get 8" The Black Ghost Knife would also be good. They can grow up to 18" but have quite a slow growth rate.
