Halp!

I noticed my bichirs have not been themselves lately, about 2 weeks now. A bit more shy, a little irritated it seems. Last night I got to see why and from the looks of it, a parasite, I just don't know WTF it is.
Anybody have a clue as to what this is and how to treat it? Is this a plague of those "Monogenetic flukes"?

Any info is much appreciated!

It doesn't look like anchor worm to me. I've seen it on petshop fish before and they looked different.
These guys are really tiny and though they are embedded at one end like anchor worm, their threadlike end moves with whatever direction the water flows - very much unlike the more stiff anchor worms.

flukes use either junlge labs ''parasite guard'' ''parasite clear'' or Hakari''prazi pro''

Post #4 in Anne's Polypterus Health reference guide, is about external parasites.

This one looks like Macrodactylus polypteri, very common in wild caught polypterus, and thankfully, easily cured with the above mentioned medications.

I had just read that before posting, however, never having seen them before I was completely unsure of the ID. I don't want to use meds on my fish that won't kill the parasites. I got what I needed though.
Great help guys, thanks!

i need to pull that thread down and add some pics of things
