I went to a fish store near my house and they said that the poly senegalus would be fine with platys. I am reading more about them and the more I read I am becoming more aware that once they are big enough they will eat anything and everything they can. I also have a 6 inch pleco. Are the platys in danger? Can I take him back from the faulty infromation? Can I stick my hand in the fish tank? Are poly senegalus poisonous/do they sting?
Hope to hear back from you.

no they are not dangerous and won't bite haha unless you have a very large wild caught one I wouldn't expect that. they don't sting, and they should be in a 55 gallon tank. I breed platys and mollies for my ornate bichir to eat haha the senegal only gets about as large as mine now so he wouldn't be able to eat them for a while... but they can be nippy to other fish I've found. the pleco could suck the slime coat off of the bichir too. honestly its in more danger from that pleco then the other fish are from it. I'm guessing its small? you can probably trade it in

hello friend.
Polyp is the night, not to let the other fish sleep, and when I grow up, is the comera. sorry
