Poly stuck in a rock

I was gravel vacuuming today and I moved a rock with various holes in it to find out the my buet was stuck in it. I tried to coax him out then I tried to pull him out with tweezers but he was really stuck in there. I ended up breaking the rock apart with a hammer to get it out. It looks ok so far but we will see how it goes. I posted this just to warn you other poly keepers.

Thanks for the warning, but I make sure not to use any decore with small holes that bichirs could get stuck in.

The few times I have used cave-like hardscapes, I make sure it's wide open for them to swim through comfortably.

Yup, no holey deco for me either. just some rocks for looks and some fake plants for the hiding!

I've read this kind of thread before... sadly the poly died in that thread...
Be choosey with your decos and make sure there aren't any holes that could trap your polys.

I hope my fish will be hardy enough to survive. I don't think it had been in there for very long. It was quite nerve racking swinging a hammer at a rock that has one of your fish inside.
