poly swallowed a rock or slow digestion?

hey guys!


the title basically says it all. I fed my poly at about 1am in the morning, and now at 4:50pm there's this bump in his tummy still. He only ate the silver side that i gave him, it measured about 2.5" and he measures 6/7". I have pool sand substrate and theres a few left over gravel pebbles lying around (gravel was white and sand is black so the little pops of white are nice). What do you guys think?

It's probly just the food man my voltas and laps stomach has knots/lumps the next day from chunks of tilapia they gulp down I wouldn't worry unless it's still there in a day or 2

+1 on food fish being cold blooded have slow digestive tracts and it's more then likely just the silverside so if it's there a couple days later then I would be worried.

They'll usually spit the pebbles out whether you see it or not. Food doesn't at slot tho.

You may want to consider bloat and observe it. On my place, i have heard of a lot of cases of bloat on new arrival bichir / backdoor entry.

how do i identify/deal with bloat?

Theres a sticky on diseases and treatment here. Just observe it first. If you can hold off feeding and wait for the chest to deflate the better. Sometimes its just undigested food and theyll expel it by vomiting it in a couple of days.

Based on your pics its not inflating yet but just observe it.
