hi all i just got a poly same one as before he is about 3 1/2 inches , and ive been noticing something strange about it he is eating fine but instead of dwelling at the bottom he is floating at the top of the tank he is swimming around like normal but do you think something is wrong with his swim bladder or getting some sort of infection or is this normal before for a poly this is the first one ive owned so not to sure on there behaviour any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Actually its normal for young bichirs to do this especially senies.if you want add some kind of floating cover fro it to wander thru they seem to enjoy it and seems to make them feel more secure-Anne

Anne is correct, perfectly normal behavior.

Floating anacharis, even fake plants, are thoroughly appreciated by your polys :)

oh great thank you all so much i was getting a lil worried , ive been reading and it says to cover the tank so that they cant jump out should i do it with like like plastic or something

Use whatever you can, as long as it is nothing that will leech chemicals when wet.

A friend of mine has used plastic food wrap and tape, and it worked out perfectly.
