poly tankmates.

ok, been thinking of changing the 220 to a poly community. ive already started by removing the fahaka, the silver and the sevrum are the next to go.


tank inhabitants as of today are

2 tinfoil barbs
2 redhooks
1 tiretrack
and 1 flowerhorn (temp housing)
1 ornate

im planning on getting a couple different poly species, so my question is what are some more tankmates for some polys.

I would keep the sev in there

I kept a group of super red sevs with my old bichir collection and I really liked the combo.

Gars, if legal in your area, make good tankmates too.

i have a ray, bullhead cat, sev, fronts, pbass, silver arow, ven pike and dats with my sen bichir.

No reason to remove the sevs especially when you have plenty of space there and the sevs aren't as aggressive as most cichlids actually are. The sev would be the lesser evil compared to a flowerhorn. Uarus and geos will also work well with bichirs.

I like the geo/poly combo, especially when a species like the orange heads are mixed with a nice branched piece of driftwood.

I have kept big clown loaches, fire eel, severum, and even festae with my polys, but when SA's get big alot of them become more territorial. Dats can do well too,but they can also be little punks imo.

those sound sweet. so the tins and the hooks will be fine right? keep the ideas coming guys, i have a lot of tank to play with. i wanna know max numbers i can put in it without overcrowding.
