How do Bichirs generally get along with Cichlids?

If you're looking for the species and sizes, the descriptions are all in my Signature.

Also, the Cichlids would join the Bichirs in the 75 gallon tank for 3-4 days while I change around the substrate in their 40 gallon tank.

You probably don't want any super crazy aggressive Cichlids. Maybe some Firemouths.

Nonono, I should've worded this better. :duh:

I'm asking if the exact Cichlids in my 40 gallon tank which are listed in my Signature, will be okay in my 75 gallon with my Bichirs.

The only semi-aggressive Cichlid seems to be my big 4" Convict.

They should be fine IMO. Not the crayfish though.

I figured they'd be alright I just needed a few second opinions.

The Crayfish was actually kept with the Bichirs for a while and did fine until it molted without me noticing... You can imagine what happened then.

I have a medium size hamster carrier I can keep him in though while he's inside the 75 so I'm not worried about him really.

you've got the question back wards it how we'll do the cichlids get along with the polys they usually won't botther fish they can't eat and can do little to defend them selfs so that being said you wan't less aggressive cichlids to go with your polys

So your cichlids are fine except the jewels they may pick at your polys usually they are aggressive twords other cichlids but can be aggressive twords other fish they do like that same water params so if they work together then great but watch them closely in case things go wrong

I'd be worried about the jewels damaging the dorsal fins of your polys. Do you have any breeding pairs between or jewels or your cons? If you do, it's a really bad idea to mix them with bichirs.

As the others have said, some species of cichlid are fine, such as the docile SA/CA cichlids, but others like the glass bangers, or breeding pairs, will destroy a poly.
