Hello, I'm a bichir keeper who has been around before, but isn't super active on MFK in terms of posting. I do however read a lot of material, and keep quite a few polys myself.
I have noticed that there is a lot of good polypterus information out there, but that it really requires a lot of digging and knowing where to look/talking to the right people. If you google 'bichir care' you'll see what I mean - the first page isn't really filled with great content, despite it being out there.
I am a web developer, and am hoping to put something together for the community that will help alleviate this problem. I'm not looking to create another forum, but instead a wiki to compile the best information we have about caring for our fish, curated by the community.
Again, I am not terribly active here so I do not know how the community feels about something like this - my goal isn't to take traffic from MFK or anywhere else, it is only to help centralize the information we have to make it easier to reference and learn from.
If this is something the community likes, please let me know here and I will begin to construct a solution. I would need people to provide information, and there are plenty of great write ups here I would love to include and reference.
The entire project will be open source and ad free - the only income would potentially be from donations to contribute to hosting costs.
