If I am not mistaken, PC is stronger but more flexable than acrylic. I think the price is double though, just curious why you wouldnt use acrylic?

Polycarbonate is great stuff, but it is expensive and I don't think you can solvent weld it. I sure wouldn't trust silicone, either. I like GLASS!

Read the "Potential hazards in food contact applications" In http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycarbonate .Fish would be in constant contact.

Gday,iv got two pieces of polycarbonate stuck to the glass at each end of my 8ft tank.i did this after reading that a large tsn is capable of smashing through the ends of a tank.i didnt want to take that risk.i also heard that polycarbonate was bulletproof.

polycarb can be solvent welded. Yes it is bullet resistant if you make it thick enough.

Unless you are getting it cheap from something else though I wouldn't bother taking the trouble to use it.
