Ive been thinking about this and I am wondering what you all think.

If i were to buy one of those large koi quarantine polyester tubs (the big blue ones) and cuz away a hole in one side and then put glas to cover the hole... would that work as an aquarium?

or would this change weaken the tub?

If your talking about the round one (hard sides) use acrylic and curve it to match the radius of the tank. Make a frame for both inside and outside like a porthole and use SS hardware. This will distribute the weight evenly.

He's talking about the square one's I think. Something like this

zelle who makes those tubs?

My expeirence with those type of tubs is that they flex when filled. Not a lot, but probably enough to break a seal on a viewing window. If you could find a way to make a somewhat flexible seal it may work.

i work at a pond shop and we have about 20 of those tubs from aquascape and the ones we have a double walled so you will have a small gap between the 2 walls, if they are similar to the ones we use. also i dont know the cost of those ones but the aquascape ones are very expensive.

i doubt there poly ester because last time i checked polyester is used fer clothing. u can do thaqt. use an acrylic peice and use eithere uv glue or possiblyacrylic cement

Dont know, in the Netherlands they are common. Almost every koi-keeper uses one of those tubs for storing their koi during winter-time. They come in many kinds, double wall, single wall, with/without filter etc. And yes, some of them are made of polyester strenghted with glassfiber.
