Polyethylene Tarp? Cheap Pond

I would like to build an Indoor pond for some of my goldfish friends...

Has anyone ever used a polyethylene tarp? The idea would be to build a 2x4 structure to support it, but the tarp itself would be the waterproofing.

Any other suggestions would be welcomed

A Tarp would work, but there strength goes down really fast as they age. And not always 100% waterproof. Pretty easy to puncture to.

Would I use it? Sure, but not on carpet or any place I wouldnt want water. But hey for 10-20$ its a great deal pending on the size ur looking at.
