Polypropylene/Polyethylene in aquarium?

Hi,

I'm looking to get some fake grass for my aquarium.

I have find some that I like and it is made from Polypropylene and Polyethylene.

Will this be safe and not leech and nasties into my aquarium.

Polypropylene, amongst hundreds of other applications, is used to make babies bottles and it is interwoven polyropylene fibres that are used in the manufacture of modern day babies disposable nappies. Polyethylene, amongst hundreds of other applications is used in the food packaging industry. I'm pretty sure that if any of these plastics had a "leach" risk they wouldn't be used anywhere near products that came into contact with humans. I think our fishy friends are safe. It's just as well. If it came about that plastics were dangerous to our pets we wouldn't have an hobby. Just look at your set up. Plumbing, fishfood containers, filter media, fake decor, fish tank surrounds, god, even fish tanks themselves nowadays! All plastic.
