Here is a thought for a thread (sticky).

A thread that lists/shows the largest bicher of each variety. It would be much like the sportfishing records, a list of who on MFK has the largest of each variety.
The thread would only show the current "champ" with an actual measurement and perhaps a history of that fish. This would present an insight into how the owner grew out the behemoth and would keep the clutter down of dozens of pics of 5" fish.

Everyone on this site seems to take great pride in how they look after their polys, trying to give them perfect living conditions, it appears that there is also great fasination with exceptionally large specimens, such a thread would do these great fish a honor, and recognize which MFK member had raised them.

I picture this as a sticky thread, it would take some work on the part of the mods, but IMO be worth it.

Thoughts.

good idea, but you are forgetting one thing!!!!! my 7" senegal is still the greatest!

lol, maybe we should do this just for fun though.

This sounds like a good idea. I don't know why anyone hasn't added to it yet. I'd add my Senegal but it isn't by no means the largest.

I've got a 12" TL polli, which means it should gain a few more inches before it's done growing.

None of my other bichirs are close enough to their full sizes yet. But I bet my endli will eventually own the record

It grew so fast, it felt as if I could sit and watch as it happened. :D

Actually my thought was to get a group together and then everyone in the group buy a senegal list their size when purchased then post monthly updates on their growth and food consumption and water conditions
just a passing thought -Anne

Let's do it!! I wanted to join the 'race for a monster endli' competition but I couldn't find any endli's in my area at the time. I know where I can get a senegal though. :)

Why don't you start an independant thread about this competition Anne, and I'll be the first one to join in. :headbang2

Any idea what is the max size of a bichir. Currently growing Peacock Bass and Xingu. They're still only about 4-5". Was interested in adding one to my tank (180gal)
