I have been thinking about picking up a ray. I noticed that polypterus and rays are a common combination. How are people setting up there tanks? Considering polypterus like a lot of hiding places and rays like an open tank bottom. Thanks

I wouldn't say it was common but obviously people do it,alot of ray keepers say its only a matter of time before the polys bite the rays disk or if the rays big enough then it may try to kill the bichir, ask in the ray section too if you haven't already,

Yes like spwd mentioned there have been stories of them latching on to rays disk. This is bad because rays need the layer of mucus on their bodies to help prevent parasites.

50/50 chance, Some rays are straight killers, some polys can be aggressive as well. But there are people doing it.
