Hi guys,

Just wondering what other "common" names are out there?

I have only heard of "bichir" and "dinosaur eel"...

Im sure i have seen something along the lines of dragon something...?

Any others...?

cheers,
e.:D

For P.senegalus theres cuviers bichir and grey bichir

yeah, i have seen them labeled as water dragons and what not, besides what you allready mentioned
most of the rest of them seem to go by scientific names, or just a shortening/abbrv of them.

Ummmm.... Endlicheris can be "saddled bichirs". As a whole, the ones you mentioned and maybe "Polyps"

At one LFS I saw a tank of palmas pollis labeled "congious bichir"

hehe thx guys...after a bit of research, i discovered that alot of asian fish shops label certain polys as : "king dragons" "dragon fins" "golden dragon" "dragon eel"...etc...

Obviously a selling point which i have no doubt works... as i am of asian decent myself, i know id sooner buy a fish that had "dragon" in its title...haha! :screwy:

cheers,
e.:D

Thanks for the marketing tip... If I ever have to sell, I'll make sure my bichirs turn into dragons.

here in singapore,
armoured/striped bichir - delhezi
senegal bichir - senegal
ornate/spotted bichir - ornate
dragon king - endli
