polypterus endlicheri active?

Hey all. So i got one of these from a lfs, its probably 5 inches i got it when it was 2inches ish. It always seemed to be a mellow fish. But today i wake up and its swimmjng all over, not spastically but like a normal fish. Ive had it for about 3 weeks or so, do you think its just used to the tank and finally just stretchig its fins?

2 Akf 2 ABF 3 geo(redstripe earth eater) 1EBjd(2.5/3in) 1 phantom 1bushynose (both 3in) all fish r small, none are aggressive towards it. It eats regularly. Now its chillin like normal. Could it be more actice at “night” early morning since the window is shut and light off?

Yes most Polypterus species are more active when lights are out.

Just make sure there are no openings around the lid where. The Endlicheri can fit through and jump out.

Do they jump out on purpose or confusion thinking theres a few more inches of watwr and just swim too fast? Mines sealed

Don't really know. Both of my sens found their way into my aquaclear overnight while it's lid was off due to noise, then explored further

Thats bad luck. I took some water out of my 60gal so its lkke 1.5/2inches of air between the water and the lids.
