Looking for the polypterus experts to help me ID my bichir. Sold to me as a Congicus, been posted before as a congicus, and a well known LFS around here that deals in high end exotics have confirmed it's a P. congicus. Thoughts?

Sorry to burst your bubble that’s 100% Endli no congicus in site.
No bubble burst, I'll just get a refund on the difference in price lol. I've been into fish keeping for 25 years, and own some cool stuff like platty alligator gar, platty RTC, platty florida gar, etc, but never really got into bichirs much. 2 guys that are normally very knowledgable said it was a congicus, so I took them at their word and supposed level of knowledge of bichirs above my own. Turns out I should have researched the specifics more on my own instead of being trusting lol.
Thats a cb endli. Congicus and endli were thought to be the same species yrs ago. Congicus have thinner bands and a totally different head shape.

Update, shop admitted to the misidentification and gave a full refund and will be ordering a confirmed congicus. Thank you all for the clarification.

Update for everyone, got an actual P. congicus this time lol. About 18", gorgeous animal. Gotta little bump on the lip from the trip but in good shape otherwise
