Polypterus Eye problem, please help

so my polypterus senesgalus' eye looks grey, it almost looks like as if he caught some kind of cataracts. One eye is more grey than the other, the fish is about 4" long and eats massivore pellets with the occasional minnow. Anybody know what it might be and what i could do ? Also i tried to take a picture but there isnt enough light and with the flash on I get red eye..

I would start off with doing lots of water changes, and keep on it, might try a little salt, a little tea tree extract.

^^^ Agree. Salt cures almost everything so why not give it a shot for now.

this is the best i could do with my cell phone guys, I truly apologize for the lack of true clarity

I put some salt and did a water change, no improvement so far. Any ideas what it is? I also recently read that apparently polypterus eyes going cloudy is common?

My bichirs eye did the same when my filter broke, fixed the filter, cleaned the tank and they were fine again within 3days
