?
today i just bought in my arapaima and the polypterus seems to be following him everywhere and trying to rub against my pima
is this a problem

How big are they, shouldn't be a prob

Both are slender fish, poly is probably getting a feel of the new guy, if they start nipping each other then you may want to keep an eye on them. But if its just light rubbing don't worry bout it.

it almost looks like when polypterus are mating dont know if the poly thinks the arapaima is another polypterus because baby arapaima somewhat look like polypterus

That's probably the best answer, your poly is getting frisky! Maybe get another mate for the poly, take the attention off the Pima and possibly get some babies out of it.

senegals are very active and I can see them doing that. They are probably just investigating a new tank mate that they came upon while they were strolling around the tank
