Please be aware polypterus needs to swim to surface for breathing air. Not good for polypterus if too much danger on the way up and down. Watch poor polypterus at 3:54. Does fish need rescue?

No it doesn't need rescue I'm sure the guy who built it knows what he's doing my poly does it all the time bumping in to stiff before the surface

poor poly is too small for the tank. just because the guy built the tank doesnt mean he knows what he's doing that poly was almost a snack for the bass or the catfish not good

John knows a vast amount about fish keeping. If I'm not mistaken this is his second monster build so that he could house his 2 arapima gigas, Sam and Samantha. I'm pretty sure his weekly maintenance costs run about $2000 for fresh food and the like. My guess woul be that the fish leave the bichir alone because they are well fed. Yes, most of the fish in there could swallow the bichir like a noodle an yet, its still alive. Just a testament to his dedication to the fish.
