Can 2 ornate bichirs be housed together? I have heard mixed views on this. Thanks in adavance for any responces!

I have a 13 inch one with a 5 inch one with no problems at all.

It can be done, but sometimes you get a cranky territorial ornate that will fight with the others.

A friend of mine has big tank with four or five 24" ornates with some wide bar dats and they do okay.

it completely depnds on the agression level of each only way to find out is try and see what happens. and as always be ready to seperate them if trouble erupts.This does not mean the ocassional nip or short chase thats normal.-Anne

It will be ok for most ornates but again it will depend on the behavior of the specific ornate

Well I got another one today and they get along great. The new one is very docile; he lived with corydoras for 8 years without a problem.
