Got a question. I have owned all but 1 specie (ansorgii) of ployterus that I am aware of. Several years ago in either FAMA or TFH (i think) there was an artical about polypterus and had a picture of one I have never seen before nor have I seen since. It was a solid white (ish) color with no pattern. It was not an albino. I don't remember the species name listed below the picture but I remember that it was one I had not heard of before. I can not find the issue it was in, I checked both their web sights for back issues with no luck. It was not listed as an albino or xanthic or anything. Really wish I could find that issue!!!!Anyone have any ideas or have a copy of that old magazine?

THanks...Joel

Most likely it was a Leustic (platinum) are silver/whitish bodies with black eyes.

I recall it had black or at least dark colored eyes. It was so log ago I say it I can't remember what it was called. Admittitly, I didn't know as much about polypterus back then as I do now so it may have been a species name that was valid that at the time I was not familure with. It was just so cool, it really left an impression with me. It looked alot like a common old palmus but white. I have seem platnum polypterus on some of the importers list I buy from but with a real big price tag on it, never have bought one.

Thanks Anne, I knew you would have some good input, I'll look into it to see if that's what it was.

Anyone have a pic they can post?

Actually Leustic (platinum) are silver/whitish bodies with black eyes. Are just color morphs of P.senegalus usually prices i've seen were $300-500 stopped me dead in my tracks lol-Anne

I read somewhere that luecistic endicheri were being bred overseas but they were reported to be thousands of dollars each. It was also questionable if they even exist, I have seen no pictures, no listings of them available for purchase. Might be cool though....
