Polypterus senegalus tail coloration

I own a polypterus senegalus which is about 4 inches in length. I've had the fish for about 2 months and in the past week i've noticed that a small section on the end of its tail is becoming pale and i'm moderately concerned. I am able to attach a picture but the pictures are not truely showing what i am seeing. Please feel free to give me some feedback thanks, Matt
