Hi, I am wanting one of these possibly in the future... I may upgrade from a 55 gallon to possibly a 120 but not sure yet. Could I have a Polypterus Senegalus in my 55? The tank setup: 2 undergravel filters, 2 topfin 60 filters, and it measures 48inlongX12.5inwideX21intall. Also if I do/can get one, I would like a price estimate for one here in the U.S.
Thanks All!

ya you can!! i have a albino right now in a 55 and gonan pick up a del today =) i dink you could have like 3-4 of them..

do a search for "catfish" in this section. i found lots of posts explaining that catfish and bichirs dont mix well. i looked because i wanted pictus but thats not an option now.

Alright so now I am guessing my 14in plus bullhead will eat the other fish. Bummer... he doesn't seem to like bigger food though...

If you want Senegals, PetSmart has them, they call them Dinosaur Eels and house them with the Afrian Brown Knives for $5.99(At least that's what they charge in Washington State, a friend says they're $6.99 in Alabama).

in central illinois they are for the sens-$14.99 an the palmas-$9.99

ABout $8 in FL for senegalus, $18 for endlicheri enclicheri, and $80 for ornatipinnis

My polypterus get along great with my tigrinus, but my tigrinus don't get along with them too much:D.
