Can I keep one in a community setting with tons of existing tetras and pencil fish? Or would it terrorize something. Im getting tired of dwarf cichlids in one tank and I want something different. Any suggestions if the bichir doesn't work? ;) thanks, Jonathan

Your gonna need a 55G for one Senegal Bichir, if the fish in the community tank are small enough to fit in the Bichir's mouth sooner or later it will be food. If these things don't apply to you I have small and large free Senegal Bichirs :)

Ok no bichir! Any suggestions for something relatively large and peaceful that can live with smaller fish! I thought maybe a Black ghost knife.

You don't want to add BGK... cause its gonna be a massacre...
Where as one point it most likely will be if he get's a small enough bgk they can grow together until he's able to eat them.

The tank size is no problem but the fish are small! Cardinal, green neon, silver tip, pencil fish,
Rope Fish :D

bad idea. the senegals will try to eat whatever they can fit in their mouth and often nip at fish larger than they can eat

If your talking about the Rope Fish being in danger your wrong... I have two Rope Fish with four Senegals where one of the Rope Fish are smaller then three of the Senegals. Rope fish would be perfect for Senegals.
