I am new to polypterus and have an unknown bichir and ropefish.I am wondering how long time wise to reach full grown size

Difficult to answer without properly identifying the sp. current size and wether it's a captive bred one or wild caught specimen.

It varies pretty significantly by species. Can you post a couple pictures?
