Anyone give this a shot? the more i think of getting a nice wc pike the more i like it, and seeing as though my cuda died from that pebble stuck in his intestine thats freed up space in my growout. He will be with 2 bichirs, ornate and gold dust, and a red hi fin wolf fish. also a leopard ctenopoma in the grow out. I really like the lenticulata pikes aquascape has right now, they are perfect size for my tank. I always get opinions on here since ive been on, so what do you guys think? other then the obvious make sure its not too big or too small haha

I have an 8 inch pike living with my 10 inch bichir, they do fine together.

nice, the bichirs would be about the same size as the pike I like, excpet the pike may be a half inch or so longer

I have a 15" linteculata with my other aggressive fish. Although it will do fine with the bichirs but your red wolf fish will be food. Pike cichlids are very aggressive and are predatory. Also pike cichlid can fit larger prey in it's mouth. Even mine tried to ate my bichirs that were 10" or smaller but, they spin their bodies and were abled to escaped. Pike learned not to ate them again. Just watch out for the aggression. Mine was able take some scales off of my 14" common wolffish. My common wolffish actually scared of my pike.

i know dwarf pikes can work but make sure the bichirs can't eat it. most of the bigger species are aggressive. I wanted to keep my bichirs with lenticulatas and atabapos but they are generally aggressive.

alright thanks for the advice guys, they have these yellow pike cichlids w/ a horizontal black stripe usually down at the LFS, if I can ID him and make sure he isn't one of the larger specie ill for for it, will take a snap and update next time I'm there
