So, i have a chance to get a 14-16" Clarias Batrachus for free (they are legal here). I have a Lap in my 125 he would be going in. The only thing i am worried about is it the clarias will either stress the Lap with its constant swimming and messing around or just eat its food (they are hogs). I have kept several clarias before and have never had any trouble with them, but always in a "overstocked" and well fed set up.

So, no Clarias. But i really want a catfish in the 125, something that maxes out at 12-16", doesnt eat the polypterus neither eats their food, something rather calm.
(didnt really think the clarias would work, just wanted experts opinion).

Too bad you could not get your hands on a black or brown bullhead. Max in the 12-16 inch range. Great mini monster cat.

I have had one for 4 years, gets along great with the poly's

Thanks, will see about the bullheads if they will be available.

Hello,

bad choice ... your bichir would get a real chance to starve ... or the opportunity to get eaten.

Greetings
Uwe

I have Sorubim Lima with mine they just ignore the Bichir's and only time ive seen either bother each other is when my Larger Bichir decides to have a funny five minutes and smash into the Sorubim Lima by mistake.
