anyone ever kept any delhezi with loaches like YoYo's with good results? I've been rethinking my stock list after spending countless hours and days on both the loach and poly side of MFK.
Edit: wrong area sorry can a mod move the thread sorry.

i havent heard of any1 wit that combo but ive seen them wit clown loaches and my cuzn got a green tiger loach with his i guess it would depend on the yoyo size and bichir size

yea I assume the best thing would be to get a small shoal of YoYo's and grow them out then add the delhezi to the mix. YoYo's can get up to 6 inches and delhezi seem to get in the area of 10 to 14 inches.

I would recommend getting some clown loaches or tiger loaches as they can grow big. I have success keeping 8" clown loaches with some 21" bichir but anything smaller than 8" the bichir tries to swallow it. It's too risky as loeaches have spines under their eyes, unlike weather loaches that are often use as feeder they are slimmer. With yoyo loach they are a lot thicker in girth and could kill both fish. Bichir might get choke and the loach will die of stress from strugling to escape the bichirs jaw. Also once a loach sget stress out, it produced a lot of sticky slime as a self defense. It happened to my plat endl. Plat endli was 12" and tried to swallow a 7" clown loach and both die in the process. Not just the plat endli but some of my other bichirs as well, some uniquely pattern endli as well.

Here they were. They all died from choking on a slime that the clown loach produced when it got really stressed out.

oh man that sucks sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately clowns would get too big with the tank I have, 50gal (48X12 5/8X25) thats why I thought of YoYo's since they are smaller than clowns.

Clown loaches grow very slow. Once they get up to 6"+. Expect them to grow to 1-2 inches every year.

Any bichirs that are 10"+ will try to eat any slim fish that are under 8".

Get a 75g if you want a bichir comm. A 50-60g is simply use for bichir grow up or a breeding pair.

thanks for the responses everyone. Looks like its an either or situation. Now I have quite the decision to make on which fish to get:confused:
