I've heard that Plecos like to eat the slime coat off of Poly's.

But what about Synodontis. I have a Euruptus (featherfin).

I want a Bichir. Will the Featherfin eat at it's slime coat????

I used to have a S. angelicus with my P. senagalus and delhezi. Had no problems with the angelicus eating the slimecoat but it was territorial to them and was a more aggressive feeder than the bichirs.

hmmm . ok

Did the bichirs get enough to eat?
ARe they still together or did you have to separate them?

Had to get rid of the Angelicus eventually - began to rip the fins on the Bichirs. Bastard LFS took it off me for nothing in return-went in the following week and they had it for sale for £30. Really pisses me off at times. Feel better for that outburst now

i have had my syn. e. with my bichirs for 3 years. no problems yet. sometimes there is a little territorial issue but no damage has ever been inflicted.

My featherfin did eat the slime coat on my bichirs. I guess I just had a bum Syno but there is always the possibility that it will happen.

Thanks for the replies.

Guess its a trial and error thing. Maybe will work, maybe wont.

Errrg. I hate that. Oh well.

yea it probably is a trial and error thing. it usually is with catfish. my plecos and bichers ignore each other, but I have had a pleco(don't have it anymore) who would kind of attack fish, I got rid of him fast.

No problem with my synodontis in the poly tank.....it is a pretty agressive feeder, tho.

i had a hoplo in with my bichirs and it was a greedy sod.it was so fat it was unbelievable.i dont have anything on the bottom now.just my senegal, delhezi and ornate.they eat their food,my dat eats his prawns and my blue acaras,convict,3 red severums eat their food.i have tryed synos, hoplos etc before and find them too greedy.they eat everything then you end up overfeeding.
