IN MY TANK
Hi,

I went fishing this weekend and caught some of our local catfish. What do you guys think about feeding catfish chunks to polys?

Thank you

mine have no trouble eating catfish.. but i don't like to feed it cause it's slimey. i do give them tilapia, shrimp and chicken breast regularly.

it should be OK, I used to feed my bichirs with baby catfishes, but it costs more.

I would think that your bichir might get snagged on a spine trying to eat it? no? ...

NO!, my bichirs were Ok, they loved it,
baby catfishes are soft, n my bichirs had them just fine.

How big are these baby catfish?

they sold them here in the lfs range from 5 cm to 8 cm, so we can choose depending on the size of our bichirs, I think the name is Clarias batrachus.

Here is a pic of the cat fish chunks that i feed my fish lastnite, some of them loved it and the other(my3 laps and a few endi's didnt eat it) i guess they were full of the lanch fish i feed them the other day. Will give them more in a day ot 2's time.

must be somewhere in Asia then?! I have seen a lot of videos from asia where people use loaches and catfish (clarias, no plecos or such) as feeders. Seems to be the equivalent of the goldfish ;)
