I have an Ornate, Senegal and a Delhezi all in a 120g. Almost any time they cross paths they will snap at eachother like they are trying to catch food. Is this normal?

my senegals will nip at eachother when theres food present. like if I throw in som earthworms and one of them finds one n the other hands found them yet n he smellsit in the others mouth hell try to attack him...
but thats just competition for food... if they are doing it for no reason u should keep an eye on it... makesure they dont actually hurt eachother...
how long have the been together? it may just be a territorial thing that will pass...

i have a ornate, senegal and delhezi and they all get on fine.how long have they been together and how big are they?????when you feed,do you scatter the food in different areas,or,do you put it in the same place.sorry so many questions, but we'll be able to give you a more accurate answer.

Yes its normal don't worry-Anne

they are defining and announceing their personal territory its actully very normal.Believe me if you ever see a real Polypterid fight you'll know it-Anne

Well I don't really feed them. I just put about 100 ghost shrimp and some feeders in and let them eat that... They wont eat anything else... They spit other stuff out.

Train them to eat non live foods. They can go for weeks without eating so if they don't eat them at first you have to keep trying. It'll take some time but they'll learn to eat it eventually. The senegal and delhezi are probably the easier ones to train. The ornate can be stubborn but they will also learn.

MY ORNATE IS ALSO PRETTY FYSTY.... SHE DOESN'T LIKE ANY ONE OF MY LAPRADE'S TO GET NEAR HER.... I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TO DO.... :help2: :1zhelp: :help2: :1zhelp: SURE HOPE YOUR POLYS GET BETTER....

she's right, they'll rarely kill eachother unless there's a huge size difference. since I no longer have the clown knife I've filled my tank with different places to hide, now they all have their own personal space and get along better, but they were fine before, but the whole tank is much more relaxed when they each have their own place.
