Thoughts on 2-3 poly's in a 30" deep 150g tank? Should i run a nice air pocket at the top or no worries? there will be plenty of filtration and surface agitation.

Also there will be a small amount of dwarf sagittaria planted as ground cover, do poly's like to dig up plants or will they embrace the plants and steer clear?

BTW, i havent been around the "fish keeping" world really long but have come to realized that poly's may be one of the most fascinating fish i have ever watched. just beautiful.

Naw they shouldn't dig up any plants, though they have been known to rough up light substrates like sand.

If anything, they'll most likely hide inside or hang from the plants, they seem to love doing that in my tank.

generally they won't detroy plants however the plants need a well developed root system as Polypterids tend to swim thru them looking for food they tend to uproot them-Anne
Also you should leave the water level a good 2'' lower as bichirs do need to breathe atmospheric O2

Ask Uwe. He has a very heavily planted tank. He will be able to give you some good advice.

Uwe it seems has disappeared,I hope he's ok we'lljust have to wait-Anne

Hello,

i'm still ok ... just have to work a few days in Austria and Suisse ... sorry! I do not have time & energy to talk about this theme that way to make things concrete & clearer.
I will write about the theme on Tuesday or Wednesday when i come back.

It's worth to explain ...

Greetings

Uwe
