Hey all, i have one endi and a ornate that are about 6" each as well as a johanna pike around the same size. My question is could i get a small oscar to go in this tank, im not so worried about fights as i am with the oscar out growing the other fish and eating them. The reason i want to add the oscar is due the the fact the pike and polys stick close to the bottom and never really use the upper part of the tank, while oscars seem to use the whole tank. So who thinks this will work and who thinks it wont...also if you have any other suggestions please feel free to mention them.
Polys & pike with oscar?

oscars are too agressive and greedy. they will eat all the food and dont be suprised if one of the polys loses an eye or some fins. too risky for me.
I cant say im not a little surprised with this, ive never seen an oscar so agressive that id need to worry about my other fish losing an eye or even fins....well tiny fish maybe but thats a little different lol, and ive had oscars thatd glass bang. They were never agressive towards other species tho. Now the greedy part i agree with, and was another one of my concerns but when i think about it my pike is a greedy little bugger too. Any one else?
i say go for it never hurts to try!! but what about other cichlids from s.am or africa or even an arowana. but tell us how it goes.
I tend to favor larger cichlids, ive thought about sevs, nics even blood parrots but out of all them i like oscars the best
Oscars are ok, as long as they have enough room to swim around.
i had two tiger O's before in my bichir tank, they were no bigger than 2 inches and where a good 6 when I swapped them for a gar. no signs of agression from them or the bischirs so I would say they'll be a good tankmate. (IME)
now I have 2 red O's (2inches) in my big boys tanks (2 Ornates and Endli Endli)
