Looking to getting a catfish for the polypterus tank but, worried about slimecoat issue will it be okay?

what is the slimecoat issue? i have a goeldiella eques cat, but none of its tank mates are bichirs.
Some catfish like plecos and synos will attack bichir for there slimecoat because, they lay at the bottom and, are slow moving along with rays.
Synos aren't as bad as Plecos but it really depends on what the habits are of the Catfish IE RTC aren't going to eat slimecoat but they'll definately eat polys
I dont think you will have a problem with that at all. I have had that problem with plecos, but I usually only keep South American fish so dont have experience with the synos. But the G. eques has a typical bottom dweller lifestyle and is too lazy to eat slime coats, nor has the taste for it.
