what do u guys think, i saw one at my lfs and he is really active swimming all around the tank and he is around 8" so it would be debateable on if my rays could eat him but im working out a deal with the lfs so im getting him for like 5 bucks since im buying 5, 6" bala sharks

Ive currently got that mix going on. Only issue right now is the bichir getting enough to eat!

well a 18" ray can eat a whole lot of fish..... but for 5$ its worth a shot..... i had endli and ornate with rays

yea, i figure its more movement in the tank to keep my gf happy lol she likes the rays but wants something swimming above them which is why im gonna get the balas and the poly was swimming up top alot too, but i know its more of a bottem dweller but still he looked really cool

polys are notorious jumpers so if thepond isnt covered probably not good idea....

My poly must of been crazy because when I dropped a ray in the tank it went and chomped it's disc right away..

But if you add the poly to the ray tank.. the ray will probably go chomp the poly.

$5? Do you have a Leopoldi or Motoros?

Motoros, Yes

Leo, no..

thought you had a pond.... well if tanks covered go for it....

I had a weeksii bite one of my rays and I had an endli that stole food from under the rays disks. I wouldn't trust the combo long term, but it depends on what kind of poly you are looking at.

It's been done a lot, but occasionally you'll have the poly bite at the rays disc (a lot of the time this stops before it becomes much of a problem, least in my experience) or if the poly can fit in the rays mouth, then it's noodle bichir time. I'm sure it will depend on your poly species though.
