well i finally found some rays that arent rectic that i like that will fit in my tank.....and i was gonna add some a poly and someone told me that all there friends that had tried this combo ended up with eyeless rays.....is this true???
thanks

Im doing it but the day after I added the ray in with the poly a part of his tail turned white and fell off. Im not sure if it was him though or just stress from the transfer. Ive spent hours watching them and they seem fine.

By they way what kind of rays did you get?

there not here yet...im gettin them from waldo they are yepsis will post pics as soon as they arrive...thanks for the help

ive seen them together plenty of times and both have always been happy and healthy

As with anything, it's a "fish specific" issue. It depends on the individual fish's temperament. I have an endi in with my stuff. The larger rays were left alone, however some of the smaller rays had their tail ends nipped off. If you want to try the combination out, you will really have to watch the situation, or make sure tha the rays are large enough not to be regarded as a possibility to snack on.

ya the rays will be in the 7" range and i was thinkin an ornate around 4-6" that way he couldnt pick on the rays

I keep Bichirs with my rays, no probs so far. I have a 13" and 10" Orbignyi with a 10" senegal and a 7" Delhizi. Soon adding a Endi as well. Just waiting for the Endi to add a little more weight. The rays and polys are all in a 6x2x2 tank.

Yah...I had my 8" endi formerly with 3 12" leopoldi with no problems. It wasn't until I added the smaller flower rays in that I caught the endi munching on tails.
