Hey Guys. Well I am going to be able to build a pond in my back yard. Maybe 1000 gallons? im not sure.

I think maybe
Width:96in
Length:72in
Depth:34 in
Result: 1017gallons

If i do it this size, what all will i need.

List of Materials? this will be inground.

What would be a good Pond Filter?

Stock List?
I want one large fish that is a good view from the top.
My only problem is heating/cooling.
If i go with a S/A setup.
How would I be able to keep a stable temp?
WHat fish could I put in?

I want EVERYones opinion

I usually build all of my own filters based on a pair of laundry tubs available at most home improvement centers. One mounted directly above the other...The upper tub is set up as a mechanical filter while the lower is the bio-chamber. after the units finished you can build a redwood box to cover it with or even use one of those small plastic storage units as a make shift filter house.

You're going to need a liner of course and I like to use a thinner sub-liner. You need to have a plan for the pond edging and the materials for that.

For a pump on all but the largest ponds I like to use a submersable pump for two reasons....The water keeps the pump running cooler for a longer life and the heat energy helps warm the pond in the winter.

Haven't you read the other recent threads on this? :nilly:
